High Viscosity Superglue – B600

From: £8.02

High Viscosity Superglue B600 is a high-viscosity ethyl-based superglue for bonding where large gap fill is important, or where the materials are absorbent. The superglue is versatile and will bond most plastics, rubbers and metals. Because of its viscosity, the superglue allows additional bonding time prior to cure.

Description

This High Viscosity Superglue is a general, industrial-grade cyanoacrylate adhesive.

Formulated for strong Bonds

It has been specially formulated to achieve the strongest possible bond between rough or irregular surfaces.

Bottle size options

This High Viscosity Superglue is available in the following sizes:

  • 20g
  • 50g – obtainable on request

Typical Uses

Typical High Viscosity Superglue B600 applications are ferrite cores, magnets, loudspeaker cones, leather trims, metal badges, and electronic components. It is versatile and bonds cork, wood, ceramic, plastics, etc.

Application Uses

This high-viscosity superglue, especially of an industrial strength like B600, has a range of applications across various industries due to its strong bonding capabilities and thicker consistency. Here are some of its common uses:

Manufacturing and Assembly

It’s often used to manufacture items that require a strong, durable bond. This can include automotive parts, home appliances, and electronics, to name a few.

This is due to its high viscosity, which allows for precise application without dripping or running – making it ideal for vertical or overhead applications.

Construction and Building

In construction, this superglue can be used for bonding building materials like wood, metal, and certain plastics. It’s beneficial in areas where nails or screws aren’t feasible or where a seamless bond is needed.

Aerospace and Automotive

This high-viscosity superglue finds significant use in the aerospace and automotive industries for bonding steel components that must withstand high stress environments.

Furniture Repair and Carpentry

This glue can be used for repairing or joining wooden parts in carpentry and furniture making. Its high viscosity ensures additional respositioning time and creates a strong bond even in porous materials like wood.

Electrical and Electronics

This high-viscosity superglue is often used for bonding components in electrical devices and circuit boards, where precision and strength are crucial.

It can be applied in small amounts to secure parts without affecting their functionality.

Arts and Crafts

In more creative fields, high-viscosity superglue is used in crafting and model-making, where its strength and precision are beneficial for assembling small or delicate parts.

Medical Equipment Manufacturing

Some high-grade industrial superglues are used in the manufacturing of medical devices, where a robust and sterile bond is required.

Jewelry Making and Repair

Due to its strong bond and precision application, this superglue is helpful in fixing or creating jewellery pieces, especially those involving metal and certain types of stones or plastics.

DIY and Home Repairs

High-viscosity superglue is a handy tool for various home repair tasks, like fixing broken household items, due to its strength and ease of use.

What is High-Strength Industrial-Grade Cyanoacrylate Adhesive?

It’s an adhesive that is vastly superior to the standard and low grade super glues that can be purchased in stores. It offers the user a better strength of bond and due to it’s high viscosity it also offers the ability to adhere vertical surfaces.

What Materials Can It Bond?

It can bond various materials, including metals, plastics, rubber, ceramics, and wood. It’s less effective on glass and smooth surfaces.

How Fast Does It Cure?

The curing time is generally over one minute, depending on the environment and the materials being bonded. This offers the user more time to bring the two surfaces together. This time can be reduced using our cyanoacrylate activator B1001 if a shorter cure time is required.

What Are Its Main Uses?

It’s used in manufacturing, automotive repairs, electronics, medical devices, and DIY projects for quick and strong bonding.

Is It Waterproof?

This adhesive can withstand moisture but may not withstand prolonged water exposure.

How Should It Be Stored?

Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Refrigeration can extend its shelf life but is only sometimes necessary.

Is It Safe for Skin Contact?

It should be avoided on the skin as it bonds quickly and can cause irritation. In case of skin contact, leave to dry and soak skin in warm soapy water. The natural oils in your skin will prevent a strong bond and gentle soaking is all that is necessary. Do not try to remove forcibly, or peel as soon as dry as this will remove layers of skin.

How Do I Remove It From Surfaces?

Acetone is commonly used to remove cyanoacrylate adhesive from surfaces. However, it’s best to test a small area on sensitive materials first.

Does It Have a Shelf Life?

Yes, typically 12 months if stored appropriately. Once opened, its shelf life can decrease, especially if not stored properly.

Is this Suitable for all Applications?

Cyanoacrylates come in varying viscosities which lend themselves better to particular applications. Low viscosity cyanoacrylates cure very quickly but offer no gap fill so are more suited to fine cracks and flush fitting materials. High viscosity cyanoacrylates (including B600) cure much more slowly allowing for more repositioning time and offer a better gap fill so can be used on rough surfaced materials.

Is It Resistant to Temperature Extremes?

It can withstand various temperatures, but extreme conditions can weaken the bond. Specialty formulations may offer better temperature resistance.

Can It Be Used in Outdoor Applications?

Yes, but its effectiveness depends on the type and the environmental conditions. Some formulations are more suitable for outdoor use.
