Description
Equivalent to well-known brand product 222 – Purple.
This Screw Glue A2222 is designed for the sealing and locking of threaded fasteners which may require easy disassembly with standard hand tools.
This adhesive is a single-component anaerobic, low-strength thixotropic, acrylic-based thread locker. It cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces, while preventing leakage and loosening from vibration and shock.
Adhesive resistance
This adhesive has very good chemical and solvent resistance in particular to:
- Motor oil
- Leaded petrol
- Brake fluid
- Acetone
- Ethanol
Application uses
The A2222 Screw Lock Adhesive is a specialised type of adhesive often used in mechanical and engineering applications.
Consequently, it can be commonly used for:
- Adjustment of set screws;
- Small diameter or long length fasteners where easy disassembly is required without shearing the screw;
- Sealing and locking of threaded fasteners.
Securing Threaded Fasteners
Ideal for locking nuts, bolts, and screws in place, preventing them from loosening due to vibration or stress.
Sealing Metal Threads
In plumbing or gas fittings, it can provide a secure seal on metal threads, preventing leaks.
Preventing Corrosion
It can act as a barrier against moisture and chemicals, reducing the risk of corrosion on metal parts.
Electronics Manufacturing
Useful in securing components on printed circuit boards or other electronic assemblies.
Automotive Repairs
In vehicles, it can secure bolts and screws in engines, transmissions, and other high-vibration environments.
Heavy Machinery Maintenance
Keeps fasteners secure in construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and industrial machines.
Marine Applications
For boats and other marine equipment, it can prevent fasteners from loosening due to constant movement and moisture exposure.
Bicycle and Motorcycle Assembly
Ensures that critical components like brake and gear assemblies remain tightly fastened.
DIY and Home Repairs
Useful for general home maintenance tasks, especially in areas subject to vibration like garage door mechanisms or HVAC units.

How to use this adhesive
Please follow these steps when using this adhesive fluid.
- For optimum performance surfaces should be clean and free of grease (internal and external).
- If the material is an inactive metal consider using an activator.
- Shake the product thoroughly before use.
- Apply several drops to the bolt and nut.
- Assemble and tighten as required.
- To prevent the clogging of the nozzle, do not let the tip touch metal surface during application.
Disassembly information
- Remove with standard hand tools.
- In circumstances where hand tools do not work, use localized heat to bolt or nut, disassemble while hot.
