Description
Two-Component Water-Based Adhesive System ProAqua Office and ProAqua Activator 24 Product Description
This is for a 25kg tub of ProAqua Office and a 25kg tub of ProAqua Activator 24 which is the essential activator component for Chemique’s ProAqua Office two-component adhesive system.
Consequently, this system is part of a revolutionary range of water-based sprayable adhesives designed to deliver superior performance that really do rival traditional solvented adhesives while being environmentally friendly as they do so.
They also eliminate harmful chemicals and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), all while the ProAqua system minimises environmental impact and enhances workplace safety at the same time.
Then, when combined, the adhesive and activator give you an exceptionally high initial tack and produce the softest of bond lines as they do so, making it a top choice for a wide variety of industrial applications.
Superior Performance
Offers you an aggressive instant tack and high final bond strengths comparable to a high-performance contact adhesive, ensuring a powerful and durable bond.
Applications
This water adhesive forms a strong, reliable bond across a variety of substrates, proving especially effective across different foam types and densities.
Environmentally Compliant
The advanced, water-based formulation is free of solvents and VOCs, allowing users to comply with the most recent environmental and safety legislation.
Improves Workplace Safety
The absence of flammable solvents significantly reduces the need for costly extraction and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), creating a safer manufacturing environment.
Extended Shelf Life
The activator has a 12-month storage life, which is significantly longer than the adhesive component.
As a result, this will then help you to reduce waste and means the tub does not need to be replaced at the same rate as well.
Application Uses
Due to it properties, this adhesive is ideal for a wide range of applications, including for instance:
Office Chair Assembly
Bonding sculpted polyurethane foam cushions to the plastic or wooden structural shells of office and task chairs.
The soft bond line it creates is unrivalled by traditional solvented sprays, creating a better quality finished product.
Mattress Lamination
Spraying the adhesive to bond multiple layers within a mattress, such as laminating memory foam toppers to high-density support foam cores or attaching foam side-walls to a pocket spring unit.
Contract Seating Manufacturing
Assembling fixed banquette seating for restaurants, bars, and hotels by bonding foam to wooden frames before upholstery.
Its non-flammable quality reduces the onerous health and safety requirements for spraying in production, saving you money on extraction equipment and segregation of the workspace.
Upholstering Headboards and Wall Panels
Efficiently applying adhesive to bond foam sheets onto large wooden boards (MDF or plywood) to create padded headboards or decorative acoustic wall panels.
Automotive Seating
Adhering foam cushioning to the metal or composite seat frames in cars, lorries, or buses, where bonding of dissimilar materials is paramount.
Foam Converting and Fabrication
Bonding large blocks of foam together before they are cut into custom shapes for specialised packaging, orthopaedic supports, or unique furniture designs.
Re-upholstery and Furniture Restoration
Stripping old furniture and bonding new foam directly to the wooden or plastic frames of sofas and armchairs.
The high initial tack is ideal for holding the new foam in place while it is shaped.
Bonding Plastic Components
Attaching plastic elements, such as lumbar support mechanisms, armrest pads, or decorative trim, directly onto the foam or frame of a piece of furniture, leveraging its specific strength in bonding to plastics.
Manufacturing Domestic Furniture
Assembling items like padded dining chairs or footstools, where foam needs to be securely bonded to a wooden base before the final fabric is applied.
Acoustic Panel Assembly
Bonding specialised acoustic foam to backing boards (wood or rigid plastic) for use in recording studios, offices, and home cinemas.
The spray application ensures even, full coverage for optimal performance.
Industries
The unique qualities of this non flammable adhesive make it a popular choice in the foam and furniture industry suitable for;
- Upholstery / re-upholstery
- Office seating
- Furniture manufacture
- Mattress manufacture
- Automotive seating
- Foam fabrication
- Contract / domestic furniture.
Spray System & Application
ProAqua Activator 24 is used in conjunction with ProAqua Office water-based polychloroprene adhesive:
- This two-component adhesive is applied using the specialised Duo Dek spray system.
- The system uses a single spray gun that mixes and applies the adhesive and activator simultaneously, directly onto the substrate.
- The recommended adhesive-to-activator mix ratio is 10:1.

Water-based Adhesive information
Water-based adhesives provide an eco-friendly solution when switching to safer adhesive options.
Their versatility and ease of use make them a preferable option across various industries and can provide a cost-effective option when compared to traditional solvent-based adhesives.
One of the main advantages of water-based adhesives is that they are environmentally friendly and minimise the impact of pollutants, due to being formulated without VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which are found in many other adhesives.
They form a strong bond and exhibit versatility in adhering to a variety of substrates, making them a popular choice across many industries.
