Description
This is for a box quantity of 15 x 310ml High Temperature Silicone Silirub HT°N, which is an elastic, single component engineering silicone sealant that is suitable for use in a wide range of industrial and domestic applications that are subject to very high temperatures.
It is particularly useful in the sealing of heating installation, pumps and engines due to its high temperature resistance withstanding temperatures of up to 280°C. It is also resistant to many chemicals, UV, rain, snow and the ozone making it a very useful sealant.
Highly flexible and weatherproof. Primerless adhesion on all common construction materials (glass, plastics, masonry substrates, metals and wood). High movement capability. Resistant to UV, rain, snow, ozone and many chemicals.
Application uses
Some application examples of use include:
- For sealing of elastic joints which require a high temperature resistance; gaskets, hot water installations, pipework, ovens, furnaces and chimney flues.
- Suitable for external and internal applications.
Silicone colour
Silirub HT°N is black in colour and is virtually odourless. It offers primerless adhesion on all common construction materials (glass, plastics, masonry substrates, metals and wood).
Testing this sealant
It is always recommended that a small sample of the material(s) is tested first, to ensure the suitability of the product for the application.
Silicone sealant features
This high temperature sealant features are:
- Neutral cure silicone sealant
- High temperature resistance
- External and internal
- Highly flexible and durable
- Virtually odourless
How To Use this engineering sealant
For optimum performance of Silirub HT°N surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease.
Porous surfaces in water-loaded applications should be primed. No primer is needed for non-porous substrates. All smooth surfaces can be treated with an activator.
When you are ready to start using it you should always:
- Apply with a manual or pneumatic caulking gun.
- Clean with white spirit immediately after use (before curing).
- Finish with a soapy solution before skinning.
- Repair with the same material
Precautionary information
- Because of its acidic nature, certain metals (eg copper, lead) can be affected by Silirub HT°N.
- Do not use Silirub HT°N on natural stones like marble or granite due to the risk of staining.
- Direct contact with the secondary sealing of insulating glass units (insulation) and the PVB-film of safety glass must be avoided.
- We strongly recommend that the product is never applied in full sunlight as it will dry very fast.
- When finished with a finishing solution or soapy solution, make sure that the surfaces are not touched by this solution. This will cause the sealant not to adhere to that surface. Therefore we recommend to only dip the finishing tool in this solution.
- Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
- When using different reactive joint sealants, the first joint sealant must be completely hardened before the next one is applied.
- Silirub HT°N has a shelf life of fifteen months in unopened packaging in a cool and dry storage place at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C.
