Structural Methacrylate Adhesive S1300 is a two-part A&B component system ideal for all types of bonding requirements on steel, aluminium, polycarbonates and general plastics.

This structural adhesive is also very good on vertical surface bonds because it is an MMA Methacrylate. As a result, it exhibits excellent structural strength even without priming the surfaces.

Please note that this is the adhesive only. The mixer nozzle and twin cartridge gun are sold separately.

Structural Methacrylate Adhesive S1300 is a two-part A&B component system ideal for all types of bonding requirements on steel, aluminium, polycarbonates and general plastics.

This structural adhesive is also very good on vertical surface bonds because it is an MMA Methacrylate. As a result, it exhibits excellent structural strength even without priming the surfaces.

It is particularly suitable for model railway kits especially for the attachment of fine detailing, and between metal and plastic.

This structural glue macro structures the bond which possesses excellent durability high peel strength even in larger gaps and has excellent solvent and environmental resistance, resisting fuels, lubricants cleaning chemicals and fluids.

Best used with

Customer asked questions

Question: We are looking for a rapid curing adhesive to bond the Aluminium outer of anti rodent strips to bottom of metal exterior fire door as it is unable to be drilled, can you please help?

Answer: We would suggest our S1300 2 part adhesive but we must stress that the adhesive will only be as strong as the substrate (specifically the metal door) especially if a painted metal which may need “cleaning” to achieve a bond. The second issue would be the aluminium –also needs a good clean & prep prior to bonding – Lucy, Product Support Manager

Customer Case Studies

The following case study is from a customer who has used this product, and what they went through when using it.

Product Application Case Study

I put a rubber plug into the hole of my Ford Transit 2024 Dropside diesel fuel tank that had been drilled by gypsies. The rubber plug was tapered so the bit I was pushing was bigger than the hole to stop the plug going too far into the fuel tank. I covered the tapered bit with your S1300, a wonderful black colour when mixed to match the polyethylene tank.

Then I let it harden properly for 24 hours.

Came back and cut the head of the rubber plug off with a Stanley knife to make the repair flush with the tank. I sanded down a patch the size of 2 inches by 3 inches where the hole used to be to make the surface rough.

Now the diesel fumes were sealed (there was still a little diesel there in the tank I could not get out being attached to the vehicle) I cut out a patch of a diesel jerry can from Halfords. I used a battery powered soldering iron (had no access to electricity) to melt the HDPE patch to the HDPE tank. I made sure the edges of the patch were completely melted into the tank without piercing the tank. I smoothed over the edges after carefully. Took about an hour.

Then I put a larger patch of 4 inches by 6 inches over the other patch and plastic welded it.

Finally I painted the rest of the S1300 tube all over the final patch on Friday.

The following Monday I returned and put £50 of fuel in the tank. No problems with leaks and the finish looked really professional and hardly noticeable!! Your product helped save me £900 buying a new tank from Ford plus the hassle of removing the tank and replacing it which would have attracted a labour charge.

Thanks for your help. Just wanted to give some feedback that I think your product does work plus it is black to match my tank, unlike Permabond’s effort.
